The History of Pornography

Porn and erotica are not new things. Archaeologists have discovered explicit paintings from Ancient Rome, and surviving erotic manuscripts from Ancient Greece. Some suggest that even the stone "mother figures" of prehistory are somehow pornographic.

The invention of new technologies have always been helped along by porn. The photograph, film, video and internet have seen porn emerge as one of their first - and most popular - subjects.

It seems that throughout the history of mankind, the urge to make a record of sex for "unsavoury" purposes has been very strong.
